Albany Park Tool Library
IThe Albany Park Tool Library project addresses the critical need for urban gardening in communities with limited green space. Beyond offering tools, the design incorporates multifunctional structural columns that serve as storage units and silos for water, compost, seeds, and soil. Inside, the space is envisioned as a hub for community engagement, providing areas for seed germination, classes, and events. The sloped rooftop doubles as a shared green space where neighbors can garden together, while a strategically placed soil silo allows trucks to easily load soil directly into their beds. In winter, the rooftop transforms into a community sledding hill, ensuring year-round utility and enjoyment for all.
