it all starts with an idea.

Anthony Skokal is an architectural designer based in Chicago with a Master of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. His work sits at the intersection of technical rigor and purposeful design, with a focus on high-performance building enclosure systems, urban design, and interest in real estate development.

Anthony works as a Building Enclosure Consultant, specializing in envelope forensics, performance testing, and remediation. He serves AIA Illinois as an At-Large Delegate and Social Media Chair for the Emerging Professionals committee, amplifying the voices of young architects across the state and strengthening connections within the profession.

His foundation is a B.S. in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he helped run the Society of Business Management in Architecture and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity — experiences that continue to shape his collaborative, community-driven approach to design.

The projects collected here — award-winning explorations of short-term housing, athletic facilities, museums, and adaptive reuse — reflect a consistent thread: architecture that is practical, contextually grounded, and built to last in people's lives.

Anthony also writes a blog for students and emerging professionals on navigating architecture school, building a personal brand, and everything in between.

Outside of work, you'll find him cheering on the White Sox, playing softball, trying a new restaurant, or spending time with family and friends around Chicago.
