it all starts with an idea.
Hi, I’m Anthony Skokal—a graduate student at the Illinois Institute of Technology pursuing my Master of Architecture with a focus on building enclosure systems, urban design, and real estate development. I currently work as a Building Enclosure Consultant, where I assist in envelope forensics, performance testing, and remediation, and I also serve as a Peer Mentor for the freshman ARCH 100 course at IIT College of Architecture, guiding students through site visits, sketching, and documentation of the built environment.
I earned my B.S. in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I led student organizations and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity—experiences that continue to shape my collaborative and community-driven approach to design.
This portfolio highlights award-winning academic projects exploring short-term housing, year-round athletic facilities, museums, and adaptive reuse. Each project reflects my interest in architecture that is practical, impactful, and responsive to context.
I’m also laying the groundwork for my future architecture practice, beginning with ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) design in Chicago as a pathway to broader residential and urban projects. Alongside this, I run a blog where I share insights with students and emerging professionals on navigating architecture school, self-branding, and architectural practice.
Outside of architecture, you’ll most likely find me cheering on the White Sox, playing softball, trying a new restaurant or spending time with family and friends around Chicago.
